We traveled through Karelia on the route of Alexander II. We saw ancient Karelian villages, majestic rivers Shuya and Sunu, enjoyed the view of Kivach waterfall, praised by G.R. Derzhavin, tasted mineral water from underground sources of the first Russian resort "Marcial Waters", created by decree of Peter I
We drove to the coast of Lake Ladoga, saw the bays and cliffs of Finnish Karelia, admired the Ahvenkoski waterfall, where the movie "The Dawns Are Quiet Here..." was shot, and walked through the Ruskeala Mountain Park around the magnificent marble lake. And on the way back we had dinner in a cozy old Karelian village.
